LIPOSORBER is the only FDA-approved therapy specifically indicated to reduce elevated Lp(a) in eligible patients with FH. In addition to lowering both Lp(a) and LDL-C, lipoprotein apheresis has been shown to improve vascular and inflammatory biomarkers and has been associated with significant reductions in cardiovascular events in high-risk patients. In a long-term FH study, lipoprotein apheresis was associated with a 72% reduction in coronary events versus drug therapy alone.
